Ingredients:

  • Elderberries

  • Rose Hips

  • Astragalus Root

  • Echinacea Root

  • Burdock Root

  • Ginger Root

  • Star Anise

  • Clove

  • Cinnamon

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Mix the herbal contents with 4 cups of water.

  2. Simmer covered for 4 to 8 hours, preferably in a small crockpot set on low.

  3. Once the mixture is reduced by half, allow it to cool.

  4. Strain the mixture thoroughly through multiple layers of cheesecloth.

  5. Gently warm the liquid and add an equal amount of honey (about 2 cups). Stir well.

  6. Refrigerate the syrup. Properly stored, it should remain fresh for about a month. Increasing the amount of honey will extend its shelf life, as honey is a stable preservative.

Contraindications: Avoid giving it to infants under one year old. For infants, consider using an alternative sweetener like raw sugar to retain its mineral content.
